Professor Dr E. Szilveszter Vizi
Medical doctor, academician, Chairman of Gedeon Richter's Board of Directors
Graduated from Semmelweis University of Medicine. He is an internationally recognized leader in pharmacology and neuroscience who has received several awards and prizes. He was a Riker Fellow at the Department of Pharmacology of the University of Oxford from 1967 to 1969, where he worked alongside Sir William Paton. From 1989 to 2002 Director of the Institute of Experimental Medicine (IEM) of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. President of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences between 2002 and 2008. He was visiting professor at the universities of Mainz and Parma. He also taught at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University (Montefiore Medical Center) as a visiting professor since 1984. Currently a researcher at the IEM.
